This is my first post in English. Although this blog aims to be written in Spanish due to the lack of information in this language, there are some articles, resources and information (audios, video, books, etc.) that are impossible to translate for me.
That is the case for Lola Davina's "Thriving in Sex Work".
Lola Davina is a former sex worker that envolved in the sex industry over a fifteen-year period, as a stripper, dominatrix, porn actor, and escort.
What's this book about? In Lola's words:
Thriving in Sex Work is the book I wished I'd had back when I was working to cope with all the ways the sex industry made me feel. I used to struggle with overwhelming feelings of fear, anger, and low self-esteem. I'd be constantly envious of co-workers and clients. I struggled in my romantic relationships, and was constantly fearful about money. I wrote this book to address those sex work-specific challenges, and so much more.
The goal of this book is to address well-being in all aspects of our lives, including feeling healthy, financially secure, at peace with ourselves, and connected to loved ones.
For quite some time I really wanted to have this book on my hands, but today I discovered she's been narrating some chapters in audiobook format. I'm very excited, specially because this is a great tool to get the message across.
